Capricorn Season begins at the Winter Solstice, the darkest point of the solar year in the Northern Hemisphere. While the world outside appears still, something profound is happening beneath the surface. The light begins its slow return, and with it comes the invitation to build what will endure.
After Sagittarius’ wide-ranging exploration of meaning and experience, Capricorn brings us back to Earth. This is the season of commitment. Rather than exploring our beliefs through action, Capricorn asks us how we can sustain action that’s aligned with the truths brought forward by Sagittarius.
In the body, Capricorn governs the skeletal system, knees, and skin. These are the structures that give form, support, and containment to life. The bones and skin are the inner and outer boundaries of the body. Capricorn energy reminds us that our long-term goals require structure, and that growth requires a foundation strong enough to carry us through many seasons of life.
Ruled by Saturn, the planet of time, form, and consequence, Capricorn teaches that mastery is built slowly. To be the true G.O.A.T. requires patience, repetition, and embodied presence. This is the season to practice taking yourself seriously without becoming rigid, and to honor the work required to make your dreams a reality.
The skeletal system is the deepest layer of the physical body. It is what remains when all else is stripped away, symbolizing endurance, truth, and integrity. When we are disconnected from Capricorn energy, we may feel unsupported, overwhelmed, or uncertain about our direction. When we align with it, we experience a sense of inner strength that does not depend on external validation.
The knees, ruled by Capricorn, are places of movement and humility. They bend so that we can rise. In yoga and life, the knees teach us how to advance without arrogance and how to bear weight without collapse.
Capricorn connects with Muladhara Chakra, the root center. This energetic center governs safety, trust, and relationship to the embodied, material world. When Muladhara is balanced, we feel grounded, safe, and worthy to be in life exactly as we are. When it is disrupted, fear and instability arise. Capricorn season is an opportunity to restore this foundation through steady practice and conscious structure.
Capricorn season invites grounded effort and consistency rather than force. This is not the time for shortcuts. It is the time to show up consistently and allow strength to build naturally.
Practice slow, intentional movement that emphasizes structure, support for the knees, and skeletal alignment, like warrior II, chair, and extended side-angle pose.
Spend time connecting with the earth in her solstice phase by taking a walk in nature.
Journal prompts like: “What am I willing to work toward consistently? “Where in my life am I craving structure and support?” “What responsibilities am I ready to fully own in order to manifest a positive next cycle?”
These postures bring steadiness and strength to areas supporting the knees and skeletal alignment.
Virabhadrasana II (Warrior II): Taps into skeletal alignment and cultivates steadiness.
Utkatasana (Chair Pose): Strengthens the legs and knees while working with resilience and patience
