Cancer Season calls you inward—to listen, to tend, to feel. It’s a time to reconnect with the source of your emotional wisdom and to create from the inner world out. While often associated with caring and home, Cancer is far more than soft. This sign is deeply intuitive, fiercely protective, and capable of manifesting through imagination and will.
In yoga, Cancer invites practices that protect and open the heart space, ground the emotional body, and awaken the power of your inner tides. This is the perfect season to slow down and realign with what truly matters.
Cancer rules the chest, stomach, and rib cage—the body’s natural protection for the heart and vital organs. It is also connected to the third eye chakra, the energetic center of expanding into higher states of consciousness, which is developed via the lunar principle. During Cancer season, you may sense emotions from the changing experiences of life rising to the surface—either to be expressed, healed, or harnessed for transformation.
AstroYoga practices that support the stomach and open the rib cage help you access your inner ocean of feeling. Postures that work with spinal undulation, diaphragmatic breath, and the chest cavity can help clear old emotional residue and awaken a sense of inner safety.
Cancer energy teaches that growth begins in the inner world. It’s a time to align with your truest feelings and give them form through intention, protection, and care.
Practice slow, deep breathing to calm the nervous system and connect to your inner waters and capacity for fluidity
Journal with prompts like: “What parts of my inner world need a little more nurturing and protection?” or “In life right now, what do I really care about, and what tasks or topics am I needing to let go?”
Spend time in water—whether a bath, hot springs, or ocean—to reconnect with your element
Reflect on how your environment supports (or doesn’t support) your emotional needs
These poses help open the chest, strengthen the belly, support digestion, and regulate emotional energy.
Bridge Pose (Setubhandasana) – Opens the chest and heart while alleviating pressure on the stomach
Seated forward fold (Paschimottanasana) – Encourages fluidity and a sense of coming home to the self
Bonus: Practice these postures while visualizing the breath flowing like a tide in and out of your belly. Let your inner eye guide you into deeper connection.

July 7, 2025: Uranus enters Gemini. This is a big-deal transit. Open to the ways that technology can assist your freedom, and release any ways technology is limiting your free mind.
July 10, 2025: Full Moon in Capricorn. Release control and return to what sustains you.
July 12, 2025: Saturn Retrograde begins. A cycle begins of reflecting on boundaries and rules–which ones will you reinforce and which ones will you release?
July 17, 2025: Mercury Retrograde begins. A cycle begins of examining how we communicate, think, and know what we know.
July 17, 2025: Last Quarter Moon. Clear space. Release any stagnant energy that could be blocking the renewal of your light this summer.
