More than any other sign, Taurus connects you to the earth. It’s no coincidence that Earth Day happens during Taurus Season, and that the earth’s magnetic poles form a toros field around the earth.
During Taurus season, you are invited to to ground down more deeply and appreciate the lavish abundance and beauty of spring.
This particular Taurus season, we are coming off of a powerful conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus. Due to this conjunction and a few other factors, wherever you have Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius in your personal astrology chart, you’re bound to experience some shifts. While these shifts have been a long time coming, they are likely to happen abruptly.
This Taurus season reminds us that in the face of change, we can connect ourselves to earth as our home, grounding into the truth of your being, which is love.
In astrology, Taurus is associated with the jaw, neck, throat, and thyroid gland. These areas contain nerves and glands that control the subconscious processes in the physical body. These subconscious activities do things such as heal the physical body while sleeping, and help your body develop skills (such as muscle memory for doing a particular yoga pose).
As well, Taurus is associated with the heart chakra. The heart chakra is known as ‘anahata’ which translates as the unstruck sound. In this capacity, Taurus is a metaphor for the still, small voice within your high heart, the seat of inner guidance.
During Taurus season, you may find that these areas require extra attention. Yoga poses that gently stretch and strengthen the neck and throat and open the heart, such as Fish Pose (Matsyasana) and Shoulder Stand (Sarvangasana), can be particularly beneficial. These poses not only help to release tension in the neck and shoulders but also stimulate the thyroid gland, promoting balance and vitality in the body. I suggest practicing these with your Oko Living organic cotton yoga block to make them restorative.
As you move through Taurus season, give yourself permission to fully experience and embody the shifts happening for you. Ask yourself what is blossoming for you this spring, and what is releasing.
