More than any other sign, Taurus connects you to the Earth. It’s no coincidence that Earth Day happens during Taurus Season, and that the Earth’s magnetic poles form a torus field around the earth. During Taurus season, you are invited to ground down more deeply and appreciate the lavish abundance and beauty of spring.
In astrology, Taurus is associated with the jaw, neck, throat, and thyroid gland. These areas contain nerves and glands that control the subconscious processes in the physical body. These subconscious activities do things such as heal the physical body while sleeping and help your body develop skills (such as muscle memory for doing a particular yoga pose).
As well, Taurus is associated with the heart chakra. The heart chakra is known as ‘Anahata’ which translates to 'the unstruck sound.' In this capacity, Taurus is a metaphor for the still, small voice within your high heart, the seat of inner guidance.
During Taurus season, you may find that these areas require extra attention. Yoga poses that gently stretch and strengthen the neck and throat and open the heart, such as Fish Pose (Matsyasana) and Shoulder Stand (Sarvangasana), can be particularly beneficial. These poses not only help to release tension in the neck and shoulders but also stimulate the thyroid gland, promoting balance and vitality in the body. I suggest practicing these with your Öko Living organic cotton yoga block to make them restorative.
Taurus energy rules over the abundance that is always present. It rules over the power of what we already have going well for us in our body, our lives and our Earth.
Spend time barefoot on the Earth
Create a slow morning or evening ritual
Use grounding crystals: smoky quartz, moss agate, hematite
Practice gratitude, taking note of how nature, your body, and what you already have are blessing your experience

Taurus season is a portal to embodied presence. Let your breath be slow, your movements intentional, and your days filled with the richness of simply being alive. Build what lasts. Feel what heals. Let beauty lead the way. As you move through Taurus season, give yourself permission to step into embodied presence and experience the power of nature. Taurus reminds us that abundance and beauty are always, already present around and within you. Let the power of the natural world and your inner voice be your guide.
