This mat is a very soothing blend of colors and has a nice tacky backside. Knowing everything is natural and non toxic is really making me happy.
The travel mat is quite thin. I do not own a regular mat, so I cannot compare. Pros: super light and flexible for carrying. A very easy to transport mat. Feels great on the skin. Plenty of stickiness for your hands and feet- then factor in the speed bumps and you have no problems. Gets even sticky with a light misting. This travel mat would be amazing on carpet (thin or thick). Cons: The rubber layer on the bottom is sticky, but it does move around a little. If you are used to dumping into your hands during a down dog, you will end up stretching/moving the mat. The mat has an inch or two of give and stretch. I am learning to use more core strength in my down dog because of this mat. I think it is a good thing in the long run, but I can imagine that some people are not ready for it or the mat might get a little wonky and in the way during a practice like Rocket. I feel the hard floor on my knees flowing from child's pose to swan, and the feeling isn't pleasant. I am 5'8 and have a relatively short down dog stance, my feet and hands touch the inner speed bumps: if you are short and have a close down dog stance you may feel like this wasn't made for your size? I think Oko should add one more rail on top and bottom. Yes, buy it. But, buy the regular mat unless you need serious compatability.
